Payment

A $50 deposit is due at the time of booking. The remainder of the payment is due at the time of service, unless a prior agreement has been made. Payment on the day may be made via cash or EFTPOS, we do not have the ability to process credit cards or payWave transactions.

Late fees

If you are within 15 minutes late to meet at your property for your appointment, we will downgrade your groom, but the full price of the original service will still be charged.

If you are over 15 minutes late to meet at your property for your appointment your appointment will be cancelled.

Cancellation

You must give at least 48 hours' notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

A cancellation or rescheduling within 48 hours' of your appointment, unless a prior discussion and arrangement has been made will result in the loss of the deposit made at the time of booking. Please call us directly to discuss special rescheduling or cancellations.

Vaccinations, fleas and worms

We highly recommend all dogs are kept up to date with vaccinations, fleas and worm treatments.
Puppies are able to use our grooming service once they have had two of their vaccinations, however we do urge you to check with your vet first for advice. 
If your dog is discovered to have fleas while we are grooming, we will add an additional charge of $10 to cover a flea bath as part of their groom. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs we groom.

Coat maintenance and matting

We recommend all dogs are kept on a regular grooming cycle to maintain their healthy coats, this schedule will be anywhere from 4-8 weeks, depending on your breed of dog. We are happy to discuss this schedule with you at any time if you need advice.
Outside of our grooms, home care  (brushing of the coat, etc) is essential too to prevent matting - matting can be painful for our dogs and can lead to skin conditions as air is unable to penetrate the coat through to the skin. If matting is discovered during a groom we will take the utmost care in removing them, however this can lead to skin condition discoveries, or effect the look of the overall groom. 
There is an additional cost of $15 every 15 minutes for removing matting.

Right to refuse service

Bark Avenue does have the right to refuse service for any reason, we do not have to disclose this reason. In the event that your dog cannot be groomed safely without danger to us, we will stop the service immediately. Preventative measures may be used if deemed necessary.

Dog safety and consent

While entrusting your dog to our care during a groom we strive to provide your dog with the utmost care and attention. Please note that dogs with behavioural issues may incur an additional fee of $15 every 15 minutes for grooming. We will stop the service immediately if the dog becomes severely anxious or aggressive for the safety of them and ourselves, in this event the full price of the original service will still be charged.

 

Photography

Unless stated otherwise you agree for Bark Avenue to take photos and/or videos of your dog before, during and after the grooming service to be used on Bark Avenue's website and social media.

Agreement to vet costs and indemnity

Your dog's safety, comfort and care are all equally our number one priority at Bark Avenue.

If we feel any dog in our care requires immediate medical treatment from a vet, we will stop the service and ensure you are aware of your dog's condition.

Agreeing to a service from Bark Avenue means you agree to not hold Bark Avenue, the owner, any of its employees, or affiliates, liable for any costs or liabilities that may arise from your dog's appointment. This includes, but is not limited to: medical costs, vet costs, damages and legal fees. 

Compensation may be sought by Bark Avenue for any additional costs, however this will be discussed at your appointment.
